4种有用的英语朗读技巧
1. 疾速泛读（fast extensive reading）。平常要养成疾速泛读的习气。这里讲的泛读是指普遍阅读很多触及分歧范畴的书本，要求读得快，了解和把握书中的首要内容就可以了。要确定一个明白的念书定额，定额要连系本人的实践，实在可行，可多可少。例如天天读20页，一个学期以18周核算，就可以读21本中等厚度的书
2. 计时阅读（timed reading）。课余要养成计时阅读的习气。计时阅读每次进行5～10分钟即可，不宜太长。由于计时疾速阅读，精神高度集中，工夫一长，轻易委靡、精神涣散，反而庸俗。阅读时先记下“起读工夫”（starting time），阅读终了，记下“止读工夫”（finishing time），即可核算出本次阅读速度。顺手记下，长时间对峙，肯定收到分明结果。
3. 略读（skimming）。略读又称跳读（reading and skipping）或阅读（glancing），是一种专门的，十分适用的疾速阅读技艺。所谓略读，是指以尽能够快的速度阅读，好像从飞机上俯瞰（bird\'s eye view ）地上上的分明标记一样，敏捷获取文章粗心或中间思维。
4.寻读（Scanning）。寻读又称查读，同略读一样，寻读也是一种疾速阅读技巧。纯熟的读者擅长运用寻读取得详细信息，以进步阅读效率。寻读是一种从很多的材料中敏捷查找某一项详细现实或某一项特定信息，如人物、事情、工夫、地址、数字等，而对其它无关局部则略去不读的疾速阅读办法。

The town's poor seem to me often to live the most independent lives of any. Maybe they are simply great enough to receive without misgiving. Most think that they are above being supported by the town; but it often happens that they are not above supporting themselves by dishonest means. which should be more disreputable.
Cultivate poverty like a garden herb, like sage.Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old, return to them.
Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts.

1、read既可用作不及物动词,也可用作及物动词。用作及物动词时,可接名词、代词、带疑问词的动词不定式、that从句或疑问词从句作宾语,也可接双宾语,其间接宾语可以转化为介词to或for的宾语,还可接以as短语充当补足语的复合宾语。read有时还可用作系动词,接名词作表语。

If I were a boy again, I would practice perseverance more often, and never give up a thing because it was or inconvenient. If we want light, we must conquer darkness. "Nothing is so mild and gentle as courage, nothing so cruel and pitiless as cowardice," says a wise author.We too often borrow trouble, and anticipate that may never appear." The fear of ill exceeds the ill we fear." Dangers will arise in any career, but presence of mind will often conquer the worst of them. Be prepared for any fate, and there is no harm to be feared. If I were a boy again, I would look on the cheerful side. Life is very much like a mirror: if you smile upon it, I smiles back upon you; but if you frown and look doubtful on it, you will get a similar look in return. Inner sunshine warms not only the heart of the owner, but of all that come in contact with it. "Who shuts love out, in turn shall be shut out from love." Importance of learning very early in life to gain that point where a young boy can stand erect, and decline.
If I were a boy again, I would school myself to say no more often. I might write pages on the doing an unworthy act because it is unworthy.If I were a boy again, I would demand of myself more courtesy towards my companions and friends and indeed towards strangers as well. The smallest courtesies along the rough roads of life are like the little birds that sing to us all winter long, and make that season of ice and snow more endurable.
Finally, instead of trying hard to be happy, as if that were the sole purpose of life, I would, if I were a boy again, I would still try harder to make others happy.
